Together, the two Dins Day celebrations have raised nearly $2 million in support of the university.<\/p>\n<p>Anne Fleming \u201896, Executive Director of Development Communications at Furman, says the previous events have raised the bar and set the stage for a more aspiring campaign this year.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_31654\" style=\"width: 507px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-31654\" class=\"wp-image-31654 lazyload\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.furman.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/218\/2022\/08\/dins-day-2017-inside-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"497\" height=\"386\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 497px; --smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 497\/386;\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-31654\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><strong>The goal for 2017 is to secure more than 2,000 gifts through donor challenges in a 24-hour period.<\/strong><\/p><\/div>\n<p>\u201cWe are very proud to launch our third ever day of Furman spirit and giving, and we intend to make it even bigger and better than last year,\u201d she said. \u201cIn addition to our on-campus and online celebrations, we have regional events in Greenville, Atlanta, Charlotte, Charleston, Nashville, Washington, D.C., Columbia and Boston. We are also hosting a major lunchtime event in downtown Greenville at the Nose Drive restaurant on Main Street. We encourage all Furman alumni and friends to come out and join us for some PalaDIN fun on April 25.<sup>\u201d<\/sup><\/p>\n<p>Fleming said the day will be filled with opportunities for alumni and friends to display their Paladin Pride, and philanthropy will continue to be one of the central themes of the day. The goal for 2017 is to secure more than 2,000 gifts through a daylong series of donor challenges via email and social media.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDins Day\u201d is derived from the university\u2019s mascot, the Paladins.
