The Furman Faculty Chamber Music Series will present a concert Tuesday, Nov. 1, at 8 p.m. in Daniel Recital Hall on campus. A reception follows the recital.<\/p>\n

The event is open to the public. Tickets are $12 for adults, $10 for seniors, and $5 for students\/youth.<\/p>\n

The 90-minute concert features members of the Furman music faculty who will present selections of sacred music for chamber ensemble. The program includes \u201cFour Hymns\u201d by Ralph Vaughan-Williams and Olivier Messiaen\u2019s eight-movement \u201cQuartet for the End of Time.\u201d Faculty performing include:<\/p>\n

David Gross, piano
\n<\/em>Christopher Hutton, violoncello
\n<\/em>Deirdre Hutton, violin
\n<\/em>Anna Joiner, viola
\n<\/em>Cecilia Kang, clarinet
\n<\/em>Grant Knox, tenor
\n<\/em>Dewitt Tipton, piano<\/em><\/p>\n

The concert is hosted by Furman music professor Dr. Laura Kennedy, a musicologist specializing in 20th<\/sup> century music and Russian studies. Kennedy holds a bachelor\u2019s degree in music from Wheaton College and a Ph.D. in historical musicology from the University of Michigan.<\/p>\n
