Winners in 10 categories were then selected by the newspaper\u2019s readers.\u00a0 Furman health sciences professor Alicia Powers, Ph.D., was the top vote getter in the area of \u201cHealth Care.\u201d In addition, three Furman alums were named as winners in their respective categories\u2014Rodney Johnson (Education), Dan Weidenbenner (Sustainability, Agriculture and the Environment) and Cal Hurst (Law and Finance).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In March, The Greenville News honored 30 extraordinary leaders in the community.
