No matter when or where you look, the campaign trail of years past is littered with political candidates whose efforts have been undone by an unguarded comment, unfortunate debate moment, or a bad campaign ad.<\/p>\n
Furman political science professor Danielle Vinson will look at some of the more spectacular campaign meltdowns when she speaks at the university\u2019s High Noon spring lecture series Wednesday, March 30 at the Upcountry History Museum-Furman.<\/p>\n
Her talk, \u201cOops. How to Undo a Campaign in 30 Seconds or Less,\u201d begins at noon. It is free and open to the public.<\/p>\n
Dr. Vinson, who teaches politics and media at Furman, will delve into some of the most memorable campaign mishaps and attempt to understand why some comments and campaign decisions have wrecked campaigns. And, yes, she will discuss why candidates like Donald Trump seem to be able to say or do anything without slowing their momentum.<\/p>\n
Vinson\u2019s talk is the third of five lectures during the spring High Noon series. All lectures are free and begin at noon on Wednesdays.<\/p>\n
