The Furman University Singers will be on tour Sunday, March 6 through Tuesday, March 15 performing at local and regional churches. The tour will close with two concerts in Furman\u2019s Daniel Memorial Chapel.<\/p>\n
The closing concerts are Monday and Tuesday, March 14 and 15, at 8 p.m. in Daniel Chapel on campus. Tickets for the closing performances are $12 for adults, $10 for seniors and $5 for students. All other tour events are free and open to the public.<\/p>\n
A schedule for the Singers\u2019 five tour stops follows:<\/p>\n
Sunday, March 6,\u00a010:30 a.m. Sunday, March 6,<\/strong>\u00a07 p.m. Monday, March 7, 7:30 p.m. Monday, March 14, 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 15, 8 p.m. The Singers are conducted by Furman Professor of Music Hugh Ferguson Floyd, and senior student conductors Will Booker (Holly Springs, N.C.) and Henry Branson (Chapel Hill, N.C.). Music Professor and University Organist Charles Tompkins, provides accompaniment. Furman junior Kevin Edens (Marietta) also accompanies the Singers on organ. Furman senior Grace Odell (Pelzer) and junior Lattie Reddoch (Calhoun, Ga.) provide piano accompaniment.<\/p>\n The 90-voice ensemble continues a tradition of performance nearly 70 years old. The Singers will present new choral music from both the sacred and secular repertoire as well as traditional favorites.
