A participant in the Riley Institute\u2019s Emerging Public Leaders program and a student at the Fine Arts Center, Crum set her sights on painting a mural that would capture the imagination of children. \u201cI [want] the mural to serve as a statement that creativity should be fostered during childhood, the most impressionable time of one\u2019s life,\u201d she says. Crum and team of volunteers painted the mural Dec. 5 on an exterior wall of the Mauldin Cultural Center.
