A little rain couldn\u2019t stop the party as Furman University\u2019s Class of 2026 celebrated LDOC, the Last Day of Class, on April 28.<\/p>\n
The fountain in the Milford Mall in front of Joseph Vaughn Plaza becomes beachfront property each year, as seniors don their swimsuits for a swim. For hours, students swarmed the area, dancing to the DJ\u2019s tunes, grabbing food from the Knight Bites food truck, snapping pictures in a photo booth bus or grooving inside of an inflatable tent during a silent disco. Near the library, students played a Furman Plinko game as part of the annual Dins Day campaign<\/a>.<\/p>\n But the morning\u2019s thunderstorms brought a downpour that threatened to dampen the festivities.<\/p>\n \u201cI have to admit, when I woke up this morning I was kind of nervous,\u201d said Caroline Powers \u201928, the Furman University Student Activities Board<\/a> organizer for LDOC this year. \u201cBut it cleared up just in time.\u201d<\/p>\n The theme this year, LDOCPalooza, drew inspiration from music festivals to set the tone for hours of partying in the plaza. For Powers, it\u2019s a chance for younger students to see the Class of 2026 off in style; tradition says only seniors get to dive into the fountain. But everyone joins in the festivities, and Powers said she\u2019s looking forward to the day she takes her Dins dip.<\/p>\n \u201cI really love seeing the fruits of all our work pay off and everyone have such a good time,\u201d Powers said.<\/p>\n
