Reed, a professor of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.furman.edu\/academics\/health-sciences\/\">health sciences<\/a> and co-founder and CEO of ActivEd, Inc., found a positive association between UMSE and academic performance in both mathematics and English language arts among a South Carolina cohort of 5th and 8th graders.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/myemail.constantcontact.com\/South-Carolina-Research-Authority-Newsroom--February-13--2026.html?soid=1109927824363&amp;aid=kirfB4MoV7I\">SCRA<\/a>, the South Carolina Research Authority, also mentioned the news, drawing on a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.k12dive.com\/press-release\/20260209-dr-julian-a-reeds-groundbreaking-research-links-upper-body-strength-to-1\/\">press release<\/a> from ActivEd. Reed, creator of the Walkabouts Platform, said, \u201cActive children aren\u2019t just healthier &#8211; they learn better.
