He has taken the mound against fearsome hitters like Barry Bonds and Sammy Sosa. He even taught actor Kevin Costner how to pitch like a major leaguer in the movie, \u201cFor Love of the Game.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Buddie will talk about those experiences and more when he speaks at the university\u2019s High Noon fall lecture series Wednesday, Nov. 4 at noon at the Upcountry History Museum-Furman.<\/p>\n<p>His talk, \u201cA Major League Legacy,\u201d is free and open to the public.<\/p>\n<p>Buddie, who joined Furman this summer as athletic director, spent five seasons as a pitcher in Major League Baseball.
