{"id":3888,"date":"2015-07-19T17:30:30","date_gmt":"2015-07-19T21:30:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.furman.edu\/news\/2016\/02\/19\/furman-named-great-place-to-work\/"},"modified":"2022-11-07T14:49:25","modified_gmt":"2022-11-07T19:49:25","slug":"furman-named-great-place-to-work","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.furman.edu\/news\/furman-named-great-place-to-work\/","title":{"rendered":"Furman named &#8220;Great Place to Work&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Furman University has once again been designated as a great place to work, according to the most recent survey by <em>The Chronicle of Higher Education<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.furman.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/218\/2022\/08\/Great-Colleges-to-Work-For_Logo_Small.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-18454 lazyload\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.furman.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/218\/2022\/08\/Great-Colleges-to-Work-For_Logo_Small.jpg\" alt=\"Great-Colleges-to-Work-For_Logo_Small\" width=\"230\" height=\"197\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 230px; --smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 230\/197;\" \/><\/a>Furman was one of 86 colleges that were recognized in the Chronicle\u2019s eighth annual \u201cGreat Colleges to Work For\u201d survey. \u00a0The university also received special mention for excelling in the category of \u201cFacilities, Workspace and Security.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Furman was listed in the small school enrollment category, which features institutions with 2,999 or fewer students.<\/p>\n<p>According to the Chronicle, the survey \u201cfound that at colleges recognized for a strong workplace culture, employees were more likely to feel acknowledged, supported, well informed by their leaders, and engaged in a common mission.\u201d The survey was based on responses from nearly 44,000 campus employees.<\/p>\n<p>The 2015 \u201cGreat Colleges to Work For\u201d survey was administered by ModernThink LLC, a management-consulting firm based in Wilmington, Del.
