The grant was prompted by the tragic church shootings in Charleston, which led to discussions across the state with stakeholders by Duke\u2019s leaders about how the company could best make an impact. The grant will support an expansion of the Institute\u2019s Diversity Leaders Initiative and pilot the Emerging Diversity Leaders program, a nine-month, diversity-focused service leadership experience for rising high school seniors.
