Bryson, professor of scenic and lighting design in the Department of Theatre Arts, came to Furman in 1972. He was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.furman.edu\/news\/rhett-bryson-believes-in-magic\/\">celebrated this year<\/a> by the I.B.M. when it named the regional chapter in his honor, I.B.M. Ring 63 &#8211; The Rhett Bryson Ring.<\/p>\n<p>In the cover story (used with permission from The Linking Ring), DiLella includes highlights from Bryson&#8217;s career, from his childhood to his education at Florida State University and the University of Georgia to his experience in New York City performing close-up street magic. Bryson also served as the official magician for local baseball team, the Greenville Drive. He holds what might be the world&#8217;s largest collection of magic-themed automata and toys.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The International Brotherhood of Magicians features the one and only Rhett Bryson in its official publication.
