The Furman Department of Music\u2019s long-running lakeside concert series \u201cSounds of Summer\u201d gets underway Thursday, May 29, at 7:30 p.m. in the amphitheater on campus with a concert by the Lakeside Concert Band led by Sue Samuels, director of bands. Ten concerts in the series will present a cross section of music including big band, jazz, contemporary and traditional band and orchestral favorites.<\/p>\n
All concerts begin at 7:30 p.m. every Thursday, May 29-July 31, and are free and open to the public. Bring a chair, picnic, blanket, friends and family to a Greenville tradition more than 50 years in the making. The schedule follows:<\/p>\n
