Davis, Furman first gentleman, put out a call for family recipes for inclusion in his second cookbook, &#8220;In the Kitchen with Furman: Celebrating 200 Years.&#8221; Food Writer Lillia Callum-Penso of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.postandcourier.com\/greenville\/food\/furman-university-cookbook-recipes-bicentennial-charles-davis\/article_d927d87f-e775-4f85-b056-1669ee9419d3.html\">The Post and Courier<\/a> sat down with Davis at White Oaks to talk about the collection set for release in 2026. Hyper local platform <a href=\"https:\/\/gvltoday.6amcity.com\/food\/furman-university-recipes-cookbook-greenville-sc?utm_term=gvltoday&amp;utm_campaign=daily-newsletter&amp;utm_medium=newsletter&amp;utm_source=gvltoday&amp;utm_content=gvltoday\">GVLtoday<\/a> also ran a story.<\/p>\n<p>Davis said the cookbooks that inspire him most are the ones contributed by communities, so <a href=\"https:\/\/www.furman.edu\/fu\/bicentennial-cookbook\/\">submissions<\/a> are open to anyone with a connection to Furman &#8211; alumni to friends. The deadline for recipes, and the stories that go with them, is July 31.
