David McCullough’s latest book is The Wright Brothers<\/em>.<\/p><\/div>\n

Historian and best-selling author David McCullough, a two-time winner of both the Pulitzer Prize and National Book Award, will speak on \u201cLeadership and the History You Don\u2019t Know\u201d Thursday, April 16 at 7 p.m. at The Poinsett Club in Greenville.<\/p>\n

Sponsored by the American History Book Club and Furman University, \u201cAn Evening with David McCullough\u201d will include a 5:30 p.m. reception and book signing with the author.\u00a0 Tickets for the lecture are $100 per person; tickets for the reception are an additional $75.<\/p>\n

Widely acclaimed as a \u201cmaster of the art of narrative history\u201d and \u201ca matchless writer,\u201d McCullough\u2019s best-selling and award-winning books include 1776<\/em>, John Adams<\/em>, The Johnstown Flood<\/em>, Mornings on Horseback<\/em>, and Truman<\/em>.\u00a0 A new book, The Wright Brothers<\/em>, will be published in May 2015.<\/p>\n

In addition to winning the Pulitzer Prize and National Book Award, McCullough has received the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the nation\u2019s highest civilian award. His work has been translated and published in 15 countries around the world, and more than 10 million copies of his book are in print.<\/p>\n

McCullough has been honored with the National Book Foundation Distinguished Contribution to American Letters Award, the National Humanities Medal and the Gold Medal for Biography given by the American Academy of Arts and Letters. He has been elected to the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, as well as the American Academy of Arts and Letters.\u00a0 He is the recipient of 52 honorary degrees from colleges and universities.<\/p>\n
