Dubash, a 2023 recipient of an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.furman.edu\/news\/adi-dubash-earns-250000-grant-from-national-institutes-of-health\/\">R15 grant<\/a> from the National Institutes of Health, has received a $100,000 Administrative Supplement to fund equipment related to the original grant.<\/p>\n<p>Dubash and undergraduate researchers study a special cell protein that controls cells&#8217; ability to latch onto and migrate on the extracellular matrix, or the scaffolding-like structures that surround cells within tissues. He said the research &#8220;will provide important insights into how the attachments between cells control their migratory behavior,&#8221; key to a better understanding of wound healing and tissue repair.<\/p>\n<p>SC INBRE is a program established by the NIH to enhance research capacity by expanding and networking research activities of faculty and students at academic institutions throughout South Carolina.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Dubash received an R15 grant from the NIH in 2023 to study a special cell protein.
