Nelsen, the Jane Fishburne Hipp Professor of Politics and International Affairs, commented on the confluence of a lame duck Congress and presidency and the dynamics at play with President-elect Trump and Elon Musk in the interim. Nelsen also remarked on how the passage of the bill, which was rejected by 34 republican lawmakers, hints at the difficulty House Republicans will face under a new administration.
