In the process, he became the first African-American undergraduate to attend the university. His enrollment changed Furman forever and stands as one of the university\u2019s great milestones. The school is commemorating this anniversary with a series of events, but it\u2019s important to note that Vaughn\u2019s story is not just a Furman story. It\u2019s a Greenville story, too.
