The family reported the sighting to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxcarolina.com\/video\/2024\/08\/01\/wild-flamingos-spotted-georgia\/\">FOX Carolina<\/a>, and a reporter reached out to Furman University&#8217;s John Quinn, the Henry Keith and Ellen Hard Townes Professor of Biology, director of environmental studies and all-around bird expert. He said currents or other weather events could have pushed the birds off course &#8211; about 100 miles from their natural habit.
