She noted that today&#8217;s jobs won&#8217;t necessarily be the ones students have in 10 years, so the ability to learn new skills while exercising agility and flexibility are keys to success. The discussion underscored the value of the Pathways Program, part of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.furman.edu\/furman-advantage\/\">The Furman Advantage<\/a>, designed to help first- and second-year students begin to build a narrative around their competencies based on classroom learning, internships, study away and undergraduate research.<\/p>\n<p>Pontari noted the 500 internship sites across the state and how Furman is committed to supporting students through stipends for unpaid internships to help undergraduates accumulate real-world experiences.
