\nThis picture book is really gorgeous, inside and out. It\u2019s a reflection of Jordan-Lake\u2019s own experience in adopting a child from China, and we love the way family and expectation gets celebrated in its pages. Two parents recount the time they spent preparing for the arrival of their adopted child, wondering and wishing and most of all fostering the crazy-much love that will follow her from her first words through her first day of school. The cadence of the story is read-aloud heaven, and the meaning incredibly touching and true. The illustrations are vibrant and full of emotion, but it\u2019s the way this not-like-everybody-else family just loves each other to pieces that wins us over every time. Because no matter how you come to be a parent and a child, it\u2019s a whole lot of love (love that \u201cwould grow and grow more and spill out the windows and burst down the doors\u201d) that holds you together. Jordan-Lake earned a B.A. in English from Furman.<\/p>\n

Grant offers time-tested, practical suggestions for family members who want to help their loved ones but are unsure of where to start.\u00a0\u201cDon\u2019t Forget Me\u201d seeks to help parents of those struggling with substance abuse avoid the mistakes he made and to find hope even on the darkest days.\u00a0Grant\u00a0hopes that his story can serve as a reference for parents, treatment providers and recovery professionals, as they work to prevent drug overdose in others. Weisinger majored in English and earned a master\u2019s degree in literacy from Furman in 2018.<\/p>\n
