The Furman Department of Music\u2019s long-running lakeside concert series \u201cSounds of Summer\u201d gets underway Thursday, May 30, at 7:30 p.m. in the amphitheater on campus with a concert by the Lakeside Concert Band led by Sue Samuels, director of bands. Ten concerts in the series will present a cross section of music including big band, jazz, international, contemporary and traditional band and orchestra favorites.<\/p>\n
All concerts begin at 7:30 p.m. each Thursday, May 30-Aug. 1 and are free and open to the public. Bring a chair, picnic, blanket, friends and family to a Greenville tradition more than 50 years in the making. A schedule follows:<\/p>\n
