The Furman University Student Leadership Awards were presented April 7 in Younts Conference Center. Students were recognized in 15 categories; two student groups and two advisors were also recognized. One of two recipients of the President’s Award was Bryce Stanfield ’24, a health science major and Paladin football player who passed away in February. His parents, Fred and Teri Stanfield, received his award for him.<\/p>\n
\u201cHere at Furman, we believe that leadership is not about title or position, it\u2019s about leaving a legacy and creating an impact. The groups and individuals that we recognize today have made a true impact, one that will be felt for years to come,\u201d Natalie Kindler, assistant director of the Shucker Center for Leadership Development, told the crowd.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur ceremony was full of joy and pride, celebrating the accomplishments of so many wonderful people and groups,\u201d Kindler said. \u201cThe energy in Younts was infectious. We feel very fortunate to have had so many families, friends, faculty, staff and community members in attendance.\u201d<\/p>\n
