In her statement Allen says, \u201cThe pinches, pulls, folds and various permutations in diverse surfaces such as resin-infused wax are organic abstractions that explore the pleasure and pain of the life-giving body.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Born in Sacramento and now living and working in Oak Park, Ill., Allen has shown her work across the United States and abroad.
