The poll showed that 54 percent of Americans believe electing Trump would weaken democracy, compared to 48 percent who believe that re-electing the incumbent would weaken democracy. Vinson, a professor of politics and international affairs, said stirring up fear and anger amongst the electorate is one way to bring people to the polls. She suggested that a strategy of turning the focus on Trump as the greater threat could help Biden draw voters&#8217; attention away from high grocery prices.
