They will join more than 1,300 Riley Fellows from across the state.

“Now in its 10th year, DLI and the Riley Fellows have matured into a potent force to help move the state forward,” said Don Gordon, Executive Director of the Riley Institute. “The members of this class, with their extremely varied professional and community interests, will be a strong addition to the body of Fellows.”

Class members meet over the course of five months in a format driven by timely, relevant case studies and other experiential learning tools designed to maximize interactions and productive relationships among program participants.

DLI is facilitated by Juan Johnson, an independent consultant and former Coca-Cola Vice President. “DLI is unique among South Carolina’s leadership programs,” Johnson said. In addition to the opportunity to develop new relationships and take part in positive action in their communities, participants gain deep knowledge of how to effectively manage and lead increasingly diverse workers, clients and constituents.”

As part of the program, leaders also work in cross-sector groups to respond to real issues and opportunities in their communities through capstone service projects.

Chosen by nomination and application, participants reflect South Carolina’s demographics and represent corporate, nonprofit, education, faith-based and government sectors. “The frames of reference and skills that DLI graduates share provide a remarkable platform for working together to help South Carolina compete in the 21st century,” says Gordon.

The Riley Fellows for Upstate Class 18 are:

Dave Andrews

Chief Learning Officer

Michelin North America

Greenville

Scot Baddley

President/CEO

YMCA of Greenville

Greenville

Darian Blue

Senior Pastor/ Executive Director

Nicholtown Missionary Baptist Church

Greenville

Thomas Bonn

Vice President, Information Management Americas

BMW Manufacturing

Greenville

Karen Burgess

College Campus President

Brown Mackie College

Greenville

Linda Butler

Section Manager, Recruiting

BMW Manufacturing

Greer

Frederick Cartwright

Executive Director

Clemson University International Center for Automotive Research (CU-ICAR)

Greenville

Scott Clark

Chief Financial Officer

Peace Center Foundation

Greenville

Charles Crite

Campus Director

Webster University Metro Campus

Greenville

Brooke Culclasure

Research Director

The Riley Institute

Greenville

Lee Davis

Graduate Coordinator

Clemson University

Greenville

Eric Englebardt

Managing Shareholder, Greenville Office

Turner Padget Graham & Laney, PA

Greenville

Delisa English

President/CEO

The Blood Connection

Piedmont

Frankie Felder

Senior Associate Dean of the Graduate School

Clemson University International Center for Automotive Research (CU-ICAR)

Clemson

Brett Gaffney

Dean of Students

Greenville Technical College

Greenville

Troy Hanna

President and CEO

The Spartanburg County Foundation

Spartanburg

Charles Harris

Chairman; Owner

Greenville Human Relations Commission; First Domain Properties, LLC

Simpsonville

Michael Hildebrand

Special Assistant to the President and CEO

Greenville Health System

Greenville

Cauiss Holmes

Activity Manager

Michelin North America

Sandy Springs

Kate Kaup

James B.
