The award is presented to an individual who, through an enduring lifetime commitment to the game of golf, has helped shape the welfare of the game in a way and style exemplified by Old Tom Morris, a four-time British Open winner and greenkeeper at Scotland&#8217;s St. Andrews. The news was published in <a href=\"https:\/\/gcmonline.com\/headlines\/gcsaa-news\/news\/dottie-pepper-to-receive-gcsaa-s-old-tom-morris-award\">GCM<\/a> (Golf Course Magazine) and on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.turfnet.com\/news.html\/from-the-tour-to-tv-pepper-named-24-old-tom-recipient-r1915\/\">TurfNet.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>A member of the Furman Athletic Hall of Fame and a three-time All-American, Pepper led the Paladins to three top-four finishes at the NCAA Championships. At Furman, she majored in health and physical education (now health sciences) with a business minor. She joined the LPGA in 1988 where she spent 16 years on the tour, winning 17 events.
