Each will receive $25 million from The Duke Endowment, which earlier made a $100 million grant to Duke University. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.forbes.com\/sites\/michaeltnietzel\/2024\/01\/18\/the-duke-endowment-makes-25-million-grants-to-davidson-furman--johnson-c-smith-university\/?sh=4ba0fe804ce6\">Forbes<\/a> noted how each institution will use the funds. The grant will help Furman fund The Furman Advantage, its framework for integrating engaged learning, reflection, belonging and mentoring for students. A key component of The Furman Advantage is the Pathways Program, which involves four one-credit classes for first- and second-year students that guide them through self-reflection to career preparation.
