Five finalists pitched to area investors and members of the audience for the chance to snag $5,000 for their ventures. <a href=\"https:\/\/gvltoday.6amcity.com\/gvl-starts-demo-day\">GVLToday<\/a> covered the finalists and two winners. Spoiler: winners&#8217; ventures deal with Ph.D.s and adult beverages. Another $5,000 was up for grabs for crowd favorite, which went to QuadSpace.<\/p>\n<p>GVL Starts is a program of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.furman.edu\/innovation-entrepreneurship\/\">The Hill Institute for Innovation and Entrepreneurship<\/a> at Furman University. The institute partners with organizations like City of Greenville, Greenville Local Development Corporation, the South Carolina Department of Commerce, Venture South, South Carolina Research Authority, the Truist Foundation and Hughes Development Corporation to give budding entrepreneurs the tools, connections, mentoring and business know-how to help launch or grow their ventures.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>More than 25 entrepreneurs participated in GVL Starts, a program of The Hill Institute for Innovation and Entrepreneurship.
