Already winning high marks from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.furman.edu\/news\/upcoming-book-about-americas-first-black-female-novelist-draws-pre-publication-buzz\/\">The Millions<\/a>, the book landed on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.latimes.com\/entertainment-arts\/books\/story\/2023-08-28\/30-books-we-cant-wait-to-read-this-fall-2023\">Los Angeles Times<\/a>&#8216; &#8220;30 books we can\u2019t wait to read this fall.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.publishersweekly.com\/978-0-062-33473-2\">Publishers Weekly<\/a> describes the tome as &#8220;part literary detective story, part suspenseful escape narrative &#8230; this impressive account ties together its many disparate threads into a riveting whole.
