\u00a0<\/b>THE ALUMNI ASSOCIATION <\/b>Board of Directors, which provides counsel and guidance to the university on behalf of alumni, welcomes 12 new members and a new chair, Leslie Smith \u201991, to its ranks this fall.<\/p>\n
Smith, a resident of Jacksonville, Fla., is finance director with Genessee & Wyoming, a rail services company. She takes the gavel from J. Chris Brown \u201989.<\/p>\n
The 12 newcomers represent one of the board\u2019s largest first-year \u201cclasses\u201d in many years. They are:<\/p>\n
? Henry Barton \u201984 (Elgin, S.C.), director of legislative and regulatory relations with SCANA Corporation of South Carolina.<\/p>\n
? Laura Wahoske Benz \u201900 (Sharpsburg, Ga.), an attorney with the firm of William Thomas Craig.<\/p>\n
? Bryan Fox \u201993 (Columbia, S.C.), director of special projects with Palmetto Health and founder of Athletic Performance Excellence.<\/p>\n
? Russell Gambrell \u201979 (Martinez, Ga.), telecommunications specialist with the U.S. Army at Fort Gordon.<\/p>\n
? Cal Hurst \u201904 (Greenville), vice president\/commercial relationship manager with PNC Bank.<\/p>\n
? Richard Hyman \u201977 (Weston, Conn.), vice president of national account sales for Global Imaging Systems.<\/p>\n
? Steve Price \u201986 (Bradenton, Fla.), co-pastor, Harvest United Methodist Church.<\/p>\n
? Chris Smith \u201995 (Blythewood, S.C.), owner of Moe\u2019s and Smashburger restaurants.<\/p>\n
? Kevin Spears \u201992 (Decatur, Ga.), development officer for Visiting Nurse Health System, a home healthcare and hospice provider.<\/p>\n
? Doug Stinson \u201901 (Knoxville, Tenn.), sales and marketing representative for England, a La-Z-Boy company.<\/p>\n
? Lizzie Wherry \u201901 (Charleston, S.C.), outside sales representative for Dealers Supply & Lumber Co.<\/p>\n
