He spoke to Diane Lee of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wspa.com\/news\/artificial-intelligence-use-and-misuse\/\">WSPA 7News<\/a> about the technology capable of churning out essays in mere seconds. \u201cWe always thought [the technology] was just over the horizon, and always just over the horizon, and last year it arrived, and we weren\u2019t ready for it,\u201d he said. &#8220;If we don&#8217;t get used to what plagiarism looks like now, then, yeah, more and more is going to sneak by.&#8221;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Darren Hick, a philosophy professor, has seen firsthand how machine learning tools like ChatGPT come with cautionary tales.
