{"id":2486,"date":"2016-02-10T19:35:24","date_gmt":"2016-02-11T00:35:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.furman.edu\/news\/2016\/02\/10\/henning-headed-to-mls-combine\/"},"modified":"2022-11-07T14:31:22","modified_gmt":"2022-11-07T19:31:22","slug":"henning-headed-to-mls-combine","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.furman.edu\/news\/henning-headed-to-mls-combine\/","title":{"rendered":"Henning headed to MLS combine"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>by Sports Information<\/p>\n<p>Furman senior Coleton Henningis among the 54 NCAA Division I college seniors invited to participate in the 2013 adidas MLS Player Combine, it was announced on Tuesday afternoon by Major League Soccer.<\/p>\n<p>Two MAC Hermann Trophy Finalists, 15 All-Americans and eight Men&#8217;s College Cup Final Four participants are among the players that will take the field in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. from January 11-15. All invited players will be eligible for selection in the 2013 MLS SuperDraft presented by adidas which will take place on January 17, in Indianapolis, Ind., at 12 p.m. ET.<\/p>\n<p>Henning, a native of Shawnee, Kan., and the 2011 SoCon Player of the Year, was named to the All-SoCon First Team for the third time in his Paladin career this past season after netting eight goals in 17 matches. The forward\/midfielder, who finished his five-year run at Furman with 24 goals and 12 assists, became the first three-time first team selection for Furman since Jon Leathers accomplished the feat in 2007.<\/p>\n<p>A committee of NCAA Division I coaches from every conference, as well as MLS representatives, selected the invitees, all of whom completed their college eligibility this season.
