Dozens of Furman students were honored during the 2023 Student Leadership Awards and Recognition ceremony on March 26 in Younts Conference Center.<\/p>\n

\u201cFurman has been in the national spotlight<\/a> lately for excellence in athletics, but today, we celebrate excellence in multiple dimensions,\u201d said Kim Keefer, director of Furman\u2019s\u00a0Shucker Center for Leadership Development, welcoming the roomful of students, faculty, staff, family and friends. \u201cExcellence in service to others, excellence in academic pursuits, excellence in building community, excellence in character, excellence in courage, excellence in disruption, excellence in mentoring and nurturing, excellence in loving others, excellence in leadership everywhere at Furman and beyond. You have all given so much of yourselves to make Furman great.\u201d<\/p>\n

A panel comprising students, faculty and staff representing a variety of functional areas on campus selected the winners. Recipients\u2019 names can also be seen on continuing award plaques, which are displayed on the leadership wall in the Trone Student Center.<\/p>\n
