Duke Library. <a href=\"https:\/\/mms.tveyes.com\/Transcript.asp?StationID=2725&amp;DateTime=3%2F24%2F2023+11%3A10%3A51+PM&amp;Term=Furman+University&amp;PlayClip=TRUE\">WYFF News 4<\/a> was on hand for the opening reception, which took place Friday, March 24. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxcarolina.com\/2023\/03\/24\/americans-holocaust-exhibit-comes-furman-university\/\">FOX Carolina&#8217;s<\/a> Zach Prelutsky also spoke to Melinda Menzer, chair and professor of English, ahead of Friday&#8217;s event.<\/p>\n<p>Menzer&#8217;s grandfather was able to flee the Holocaust and come to America. \u201cWhen I think of all that this country has done for my family, and what a fantastic opportunity it was for us to come here, to be Americans, to be proud citizens of this country &#8230;, she reflected. &#8220;I am at the same time saddened to think that his brothers and sisters, their children, my father\u2019s little cousins &#8211; didn\u2019t have that opportunity,\u201d she added. FOX spoke to Caroline Mills, director of Furman University libraries, who said, \u201cI think this is a great way of creating empathy and educating those students to feel like they can make a difference.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The exhibition is on display through April 25 during regular <a href=\"https:\/\/libguides.furman.edu\/library\/hours\">library hours<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The James B.
