An opening reception with Brodeur is set for Saturday, June 28, 6-8 p.m. at the museum. The museum is open Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays 9 a.m.-5 p.m., Thursdays 9 a.m.-7:30 p.m., and Saturdays 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLooking Back, Looking Forward: the work of Michael Brodeur\u201d includes paintings, drawings and selected sculptures which survey Brodeur\u2019s work since his arrival in Greenville 15 years ago.<\/p>\n<p>Among the bodies of work to be shown are: <i>The Sacred and Profane Heart<\/i>, <i>Pansies and Other Fruits,<\/i> and <i>Of Cubic Proportions<\/i>.<\/p>\n<p>Brodeur describes his work as a personal narrative. \u201cEach painting, every drawing is an autobiographical recounting. They all speak to relationship, either one with self or with others,\u201d he says.<\/p>\n<p>Brodeur came to Furman in 2003 and holds an M.F.A. in painting and drawing from Boston University where he studied with Philip Guston. He has exhibited nationally and internationally in numerous solo and group shows, and his work has twice appeared in <em>New American Paintings<\/em> (editions #58 and #100).
