Nancy Kennedy<\/p><\/div>\n

Nancy Kennedy has been named Director of the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at Furman University.\u00a0 She began her new duties on May 1.<\/p>\n

Kennedy has spent the past three years as Volunteer Coordinator and Office Manager for OLLI.\u00a0\u00a0 Prior to coming to Furman, she served as a Development Specialist for the American Red Cross.<\/p>\n

The OLLI @ Furman program is designed for adult senior learners who want to remain intellectually and physically active.\u00a0 More than 1,500 people come to the Furman campus each academic year to take OLLI classes on such topics as current events, personal finance, history, computers, music, writing, photography, religion, science and exercise.<\/p>\n

Kennedy has been actively involved in leadership roles in a number of community, education and faith-based organizations.\u00a0 That includes the Junior League of Greenville, school and district-level PTA, the Furman Young Alumni Council, Public Education Partners, a Child\u2019s Haven, and Christ Church Episcopal.<\/p>\n

Kennedy earned a B.A. degree in English from Furman and a master\u2019s degree in Mass Communication from the University of South Carolina.\u00a0 She and her husband Patrick have two children.<\/p>\n
