Several members of the local media turned out for Furman University’s annual Joseph Vaughn Day celebration, a tribute to the first Black undergraduate to enroll at the university. The event also included recognition of Trustee Emeritus Merl Code, who received an honorary doctorate from Furman’s Elizabeth Davis.<\/p>\n
