Jackson of The News spoke to Furman University&#8217;s Jason Jones for his insights. Jones, chair and professor of economics, said the present egg quandary illustrates the basic laws of supply and demand. &#8220;The higher price avoids shortages in the stores,&#8221; he said. &#8220;Without the higher price, the same number of people would have wanted the smaller number of eggs available.&#8221; The good news?
