Furman University&#8217;s Dave Moffett, a physics professor, teed it up for viewers on <a href=\"https:\/\/mms.tveyes.com\/Transcript.asp?StationID=2725&amp;DateTime=11%2F17%2F2022+4%3A20%3A33+PM&amp;Term=Furman&amp;PlayClip=TRUE\">WYFF News 4<\/a>. &#8220;T<span id=\"8\">his meteor in historical\u00a0<\/span><span id=\"10\">records has actually given us\u00a0<\/span><span id=\"12\">what are called meteor storms,&#8221; he said. &#8220;A<\/span><span id=\"14\">bout every 33 years we get a\u00a0<\/span><span id=\"15\">meteor storm because the earth\u00a0<\/span><span id=\"17\">passes through a debris field\u00a0<\/span><span id=\"19\">that has more material from a\u00a0<\/span><span id=\"21\">comet that&#8217;s actually orbiting\u00a0<\/span><span id=\"23\">the sun <\/span><span id=\"23\">now. Bring a blanket, bring some <\/span><span id=\"26\">more clothing because it can be\u00a0<\/span><span id=\"26\">really cold, and just look up and <\/span><span id=\"29\">you&#8217;ll be blessed with at least\u00a0<\/span><span id=\"32\">a couple of meteors.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Leonids grace the sky every 33 years and can sometimes be described as a meteor storm.
