Koritansky, Professor of Political Science at Hiram College (Ohio), will speak Wednesday, April 16 at 4:30 p.m. in Johns Hall 101 on the Furman University campus.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Koritansky\u2019s talk, \u201cTocqueville on Civil Religion in America,\u201d is free and open to the public. His lecture is co-sponsored by the Tocqueville Program and the Ernest J. Walters, Jr. Lecture Series in Political Thought. His presentation is part of Furman\u2019s Cultural Life Program.<\/p>\n<p>Koritansky has written several articles in the areas of American Constitutional law, American political thought, and political philosophy.<\/p>\n<p>He is also the editor of and major contributor to <i>Public Administration in the United States<\/i>, a collection of readings dealing with both the history and political theory embedded in American public administration. His book,\u00a0<i>Alexis de Tocqueville and the New Science of Politics<\/i>, is in its second edition and is published by Carolina Academic Press (2010).<\/p>\n<p>Koritansky received his AB degree from Cornell University and his Ph.D. from The University of Chicago.
