She answered questions about the tight Senate race in Georgia, early voting, and the &#8220;red wave&#8221; anticipated by Republicans. About the latter, she said, &#8220;Structurally, this was supposed to be a bad year for Democrats.&#8221; Vinson cited economic woes that voters would attribute to the party represented in the White House. Vinson also noted that the abortion issue likely played a bigger role in voter turnout than the Republican Party expected.<\/p>\n<p>Vinson is a 1989 Furman alumna (political science and English).
