Mike Gallagher<\/p><\/div>\n

Greenville’s own Mike Gallagher, political commentator, thespian and radio host, will speak on the Furman University campus Thursday, April 10 at 5 p.m. in Shaw Hall of the Younts Conference Center.<\/p>\n

His lecture, \u201cA Conservative\u2019s Approach to Altruism,\u201d is sponsored jointly by the Year of Altruism (YOA) and Furman\u2019s Conservative Students for a Better Tomorrow (CSBT).\u00a0 It is free and open to the public.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are thrilled to welcome Mr. Gallagher to the community and even more excited to hear his thoughts on the altruistic nature of conservatism,\u201d said Elliot Stegall, CEO of CSBT. \u00a0\u201cMike is known as the Happy Conservative Warrior because he practices his conservative views through kindness and charity.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are eager to partner with CSBT to make this event an exemplar for the entire community to engage in sharing divergent opinions and dialogue,\u201d said YOA founder Rabbi Marc Wilson.\u00a0 \u201cMike is a perfect choice to move this vision forward.\u00a0 He is a well-recognized altruist who speaks compellingly from his conservative commitments.\u201d<\/p>\n

Opportunities to participate in Gallagher’s Army and Furman’s Heller Service Corps will be available after the event.<\/p>\n

The Year of Altruism is a series of celebratory events taking place from August 2013 through June 2014. Its mission is to encourage and celebrate altruism, focusing the community on fostering acts of kindness in its organizations and individuals.<\/p>\n

CSBT was founded to advance the conservative principles that founded and sustain the nation. It provides a conservative vision by educating the Furman Community and contributing to a vibrant discussion of ideas.<\/p>\n
