In this motivational program, Rooney examines\u00a0the\u00a0science\u00a0behind fitness, behavioral change, and\u00a0the history\u00a0of\u00a0the\u00a0fitness industry.<\/p>\n<p>Part of Furman\u2019s Cultural Life program, the event is presented by Furman student organization PHOKUS \u2013 Promoting Health Options through Knowledge, Understanding, and Service, the Student Alumni Council, and the Furman University Student Activities Board.<\/p>\n<p>Rooney is an internationally recognized fitness expert, best-selling author, and speaker. A former member of the U.S. Bobsled team, Division I track athlete, and physical therapist, he is currently a partner of the Parisi Speed School and creator of Training for Warriors.<\/p>\n<p>Rooney has traveled to more than 25 countries to conduct seminars. He has presented to Fortune 500 companies such as Marriott International, Nike and Hasbro; military organizations like the Army Rangers and Navy SEALs; professional teams including the New York Jets,\u00a0Cincinnati Bengals, Carolina Panthers and New York Giants; and universities such as Alabama, Arizona State and Oregon State.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to training athletes from the NFL, MLB, UFC, NBA, WNBA as well as numerous Olympic medalists, All-Americans and World Champions, Rooney\u2019s training programs have helped more than 1,000,000 fitness enthusiasts worldwide.<\/p>\n<p>Rooney has written nine books.
