The Furman Wind Ensemble will present a concert Tuesday, Feb. 25 at 8 p.m. in McAlister Auditorium on the Furman University campus.<\/p>\n

Conducted by Furman Music Professor Leslie W. Hicken, the program is part of Furman Music Department\u2019s Sound Quality Series, and is a Cultural Life Program event. Tickets are $12 for adults, $10 for seniors, and $5 for students.<\/p>\n

The program consists of the following repertoire:<\/p>\n

\u201cTwo Lane Blacktop\u201d<\/b> <\/i>(2013) \u2013 James M. David, a Consortium Premier Performance<\/b><\/p>\n

\u201cSacred Harp\u201d<\/b> <\/i>(2011) \u2013 Jay Bocook, with Jay Bocook, M.M.E., guest conductor and Director of Furman Athletic Bands<\/p>\n

\u201cConcerto for Saxophone\u201d<\/b> <\/i>(2013) \u2013 Frank Ticheli, a Consortium Premier Performance, with Dr. Matt Olson, Ph.D., saxophone soloist and Furman Music Professor<\/p>\n

\u201cWaltz from Masquerade\u201d<\/i><\/b> <\/i>(1941) \u2013 Aram Khachaturian\/Hicken<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Promise of Living\u201d<\/b> <\/i>(1954) \u2013 Aaron Copland\/Singleton<\/p>\n

\u201cBarbed Wire Philosophies\u201d<\/b> <\/i>(2011) \u2013 Brett William Dietz<\/p>\n

The Wind Ensemble will also present this program at the College Band Directors\u00a0National Association Southern Division Conference on Thursday, Feb. 27 on the University of North Florida campus, Jacksonville, Fla.<\/p>\n
