{"id":20060,"date":"2022-10-12T16:11:43","date_gmt":"2022-10-12T20:11:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.furman.edu\/news\/?p=20060"},"modified":"2022-10-13T08:33:06","modified_gmt":"2022-10-13T12:33:06","slug":"furman-to-host-woffords-courtney-dorroll-as-ace-fellow","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.furman.edu\/news\/furman-to-host-woffords-courtney-dorroll-as-ace-fellow\/","title":{"rendered":"Furman to host ACE Fellow"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Courtney Dorroll, an associate professor of religion at Wofford College in Spartanburg, South Carolina, and a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.acenet.edu\/News-Room\/Pages\/ACE-Names-46-Emerging-Leaders-to-Fellows-Program.aspx\">2022-23 American Council on Education (ACE) Fellow<\/a>, will spend the full academic year on the Furman University campus, working with and learning from Furman President Elizabeth Davis and her leadership team.<\/p>\n<p>Established in 1965, the ACE Fellows Program is designed to strengthen institutional and leadership capacity in American higher education by identifying and preparing faculty and staff for senior positions in college and university administration. Forty-six fellows, nominated by the senior administration of their institutions, will comprise the 2022-23 cohort at colleges and universities across the nation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs a member of Wofford Women\u2019s Leadership group, I believe that experiencing a strong, dynamic female president is key to allowing me to see myself in that space one day,\u201d said Dorroll in her fellowship application. \u201cFurman is an aspirational institution for Wofford and would allow me to see excellence and best practices in teaching undergraduates and graduates, student-faculty collaborative research and motivating faculty to remain active in scholarship.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Dorroll received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Purdue University, her Master of Arts degree from Indiana University and her Ph.D. from the University of Arizona.
