Rather, Betsy King, a 1977 Furman University alumna and Furman Women&#8217;s Golf standout, says her calling is bringing water to Africa through her foundation Golf Fore Africa. One village at a time, one country at a time, King and her partnership with World Vision aim to bring fresh drinking water to every child on the African continent by the year 2030.<\/p>\n<p>For her commitment to humanity, King was recently honored by Rolex and Evian with the \u201cThe Prize for a Better Tomorrow.\u201d The ceremony was covered on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lpga.com\/news\/2022\/betsy-king-and-golf-fore-africa-honored-at-evian\">LPGA website<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor years, I thought golf was what God had put me here to do,\u201d King said. \u201cBut I realize now, that\u2019s not it at all. Everything I\u2019ve done in my career, every tournament I\u2019ve won, every award I\u2019ve received, was to set me up to do what I\u2019m doing now. This is my calling.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>King received a bachelor\u2019s in health and physical education from Furman.
