A reception follows the performance in the Herring Music Pavilion.<\/p>\n<p>The concert, \u201cFrom Darkness to Light,\u201d is open to the public. Tickets are $12 for adults, $10 for seniors and $5 for students.<\/p>\n<p>Violoncello professor and host Christopher Hutton along with eighteen Furman music faculty members will perform Johannes Brahms&#8217; dark \u201cPiano Trio in C minor;\u201d songs by William Bolcom; Camille Saint-Sa<em>\u00eb<\/em>ns&#8217; \u201cFantaisie\u201d for violin and harp; Walter Hartley&#8217;s \u201cTwo Dances\u201d for piano, trumpet, and clarinet; an extraordinary piece by <em>Leo\u0161 Jan\u00e1?ek<\/em> for piano, flute, and brass.<\/p>\n<p>Hutton is the cellist of Greenville-based Poinsett Piano Trio. A native of New Zealand, he has performed across the globe and worked with a number of orchestras including the New World Symphony and the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra. He has recorded for New Zealand&#8217;s Concert FM and Germany&#8217;s SWF Radio as well as Albany Classics for a disc of contemporary chamber music.<\/p>\n<p>A graduate of Boston University and the University of Rochester&#8217;s Eastman School of Music, Hutton taught at the University of Rochester, the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and the University of Delaware before joining the Furman music faculty in 2003.<\/p>\n<p>For more information about the concert, call the Furman Music Office at 864-294-2086.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Furman Faculty Chamber Music Series will present its season finale concert Tuesday, March 26 at 8 p.m. in Daniel Recital Hall.
