Hicken. The concert is open to the public and is part of Furman\u2019s Cultural Life Program events. Tickets are $12 for adults, $10 for seniors and $3 for students.<\/p>\n<p>Also conducting will be Furman\u2019s director of athletic bands Jay A. Bocook. Guest composer Steve Hicken will premiere his \u201cConcerto for Percussion and Wind Ensemble,\u201d with Furman music faculty member Omar Carmenates performing as percussion soloist.<\/p>\n<p>The program also includes \u201cFiesta del Pacifico\u201d by Roger Nixon, \u201cSensemaya\u201d by Silvestre Revueltas and \u201cDanzon No. 2\u201d by Arturo Marquez.<\/p>\n<p>The Furman Wind Ensemble will also release its latest CD, \u201cWild Nights\u201d featuring highlights from the ensemble\u2019s performance last April in Chicago\u2019s historic Symphony Hall.<\/p>\n<p>For more information about \u201cLa Fiesta,\u201d contact the Furman Band Office at 864-294-3069.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Furman University Wind Ensemble will present a concert Friday, Feb. 22 at 8 p.m. in McAlister Auditorium.
