Sophomore w<a href=\"http:\/\/newsimg.furman.edu.s3.amazonaws.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/02.13-citadel.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-5518 lazyload\" title=\"02.13 citadel\" data-src=\"http:\/\/newsimg.furman.edu.s3.amazonaws.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/02.13-citadel.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"403\" height=\"269\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 403px; --smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 403\/269;\" \/><\/a>inger Cole Vance led the Paladins with three trys, freshmen Connor Wilson (center), Nick Rossano (flanker) and Sammy Hobgood (flanker) each added two trys.<\/p>\n<p>Hobgood scored the team\u2019s first try seven minutes into the contest.\u00a0 Furman built a 45-7 halftime lead.<\/p>\n<p>In the second half the Paladins lost a bit of focus and swapped trys with the Bulldogs for the first twenty minutes before regaining form and putting down two consecutive trys before the contest ended.<\/p>\n<p>The Paladin backline clearly outmatched the Bulldog\u2019s backs, but the Citadel team held a slight advantage at the ruck-point.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFrom a strategy standpoint it was a typical Furman-Citadel game,\u201d said Furman Coach John Roberts. \u201cThey wanted to keep the ball in tight and we wanted to spread the field. We were able to spin the ball around a lot and that proved the difference.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Furman lengthened its series lead to 22-10 over the Bulldogs.<\/p>\n<p>The Paladins are idle this week.
